The Contest

The Little Black Dress is one of the fashion icons of our time, inspiring designers from the moment it was introduced by Chanel in 1926, through Givenchy's 1961 creation for Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, to the myriad current fashion designers the world over.

It is in this sartorial spirit that we we invite your students to design, create and submit their version of the Little Black Dress to the Fashion Group Foundation's Career Day on Monday, March 7 in Houston. At this showcase, the top designs will be selected from our panel of celebrity judges, and the top designs will move onto the Little Black Dress Event!

In April, we will unveil the student finalists' designs in a video production and fashion show presentation. Think Project Runway. For 2011 the scholarships are $2,500, $1,500, and $1,000. These awards are given to the Top 3 Student Designers after the event.

First - $2500
Second - $1500
Third - $1000
